Okay, so I needed chocolate Whoopie Pies from www.HancockGourmetLobster.com in Topsham, Maine very badly. You see, I have never had whoopie pies before in my life. I heard that Maine is the birthplace of these delectable treats. I was hinting quite a bit and hubby, ever the perceptive man that he is, ordered them along with.............drumroll.................lobster rolls! Which I never had before either. But this post is about whoopie pies. Freedileedoo! These little cakes are the most wonderful, mouth watering things I've ever eaten. The cake part is chocolatey but not over the top, cocoa in your face loud. They are subtle and firm. Yummy oonie. And the creamy middle is no sugary, grainy little debbie thang. This is true heavenly whippy cream that tastes a wee bit frostingy. Oh the delight of a whoopie pie! They make a suzy q taste like eating kitchenmade sponges with cool whip in the middle!
Thank you dear hubby. And thank you to Hancock Gourmet Lobster Co. for the whoopingist, whooperoonie greatest picker upper in February a gal could ever ask for. Whoopie!!!! And, I got 12 of these suckers.
There is hope in this world.
There are Whoopie Pies to be eaten.
